Irene Manning

Irene Manning (born July 17, 1912 in Cincinnati , Ohio as Inez Harvourt, † May 28, 2004 in San Carlos , California ) was an American actress .

Manning made her film debut in 1936. She celebrated great success in 1942 with Yankee Doodle Dandy on the side of James Cagney and The Great Gangster next to Humphrey Bogart . In the musical film Love Song of the Desert from 1943 she was cast in the lead role alongside Dennis Morgan . In the music film Hollywood Canteen from 1944 she was - like many other stars of her time - also represented. Manning retired from acting as early as 1955.

Until 1937 she used the name Hope Manning . Irene Manning has been married five times. In the 1990s she worked as an acting teacher. She died of heart failure in 2004.
