Irina Baskakova
Irina Iwanowna Baskakowa ( Russian Ирина Ивановна Баскакова , English transcription Irina Baskakova ; born August 25, 1956 ) is a former Soviet sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .
In 1981 she won gold at the Universiade . The following year she became Soviet champion. At the European Athletics Championships in Athens , she was fifth in the individual competition and won bronze in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the Soviet team.
In 1983 she was sixth at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki and again won bronze in the relay with the Soviet team.
