Irina Smirnova

Irina Smirnova ( Russian Ирина Смирнова ; born September 11, 1976 ) is a Russian process engineer . At 32, she was the youngest professor of engineering in Germany.

Life

Smirnova studied physical chemistry from 1993 to 1998 at the State University of Saint Petersburg . She then spent a research stay at Sogang University in Seoul. In 2002 she was at Wolfgang Arlt in Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin to Dr.-Ing. PhD . 2009 habilitation them at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . In 2008 she became professor of process engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg and appointed head of the Institute for Thermal Process Engineering there.
