Irmã (international title: Sisters in the End of the World ) is a Brazilian fiction film by Luciana Mazeto and Vinícius Lopes from 2020 .

The world premiere is scheduled for February 26, 2020 as part of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival .

At the request of their terminally ill mother, the two sisters Ana and Julia go in search of their father. Her journey takes her from Porto Alegre to the conservative south of Brazil. Your constant companion is an asteroid known as "WF42" , which is heading towards earth with a pink light trail. During their search, the sisters experience numerous “miracles” and the journey has a lasting impact on the older Ana and the younger Julia. Ana knows that her life will not be what it used to be.

Awards

Irmã was invited to the Generation 14plus competition at the Berlinale 2020 . At the same time, Mazetos and Lopes' directorial work has been nominated for the GWFF Best First Feature Award.
