Life
She grew up in Baden-Württemberg , studied mathematics and fine arts and became a high school teacher. She started climbing seriously when she was about thirty; in the 1980s she was one of the best German sport climbers. You can make first ascents in the Upper Danube Valley (Kater Garfield, difficulty level VIII (UIAA) , 1984) and also high alpine routes such as the Les Droites north face and the Solleder guide in the Civetta north west face. As a result of a knee damage, she concentrated on shorter routes and approaches and started as a member of the German national sport climbing team in national (1991 1st place Stuttgart Sport Climbing Cup) and international competitions. She gave up her teaching post and moved to Munich to work as an editor for Alpin-Magazin . She then moved to Süddeutscher Verlag Medien-Service , where she worked as an editor for various specialist magazines. After her time as an editor, she started writing books.
