Irmgard Christa Becker

Irmgard Christa Becker (born September 6, 1963 in Waiblingen ) is a German archivist and historian . She is the director of the archive school in Marburg .

Life

Irmgard Christa Becker studied history and French from 1983 to 1991 at the Universities of Tübingen and Vienna . During her studies in Vienna, she took part in the 58th course at the Institute for Austrian Historical Research . From 1991 to 1994 she was a research assistant at the Chair of Medieval History at the University of Tübingen, before completing the archive clerkship with the state of Baden-Württemberg from 1995 to 1997 . In 1996 she completed her doctorate on “Spiritual parties and the jurisprudence in the Diocese of Constance in the 12th and 13th centuries” at the University of Tübingen.

After completing his legal clerkship, Becker worked from 1997 to 1999 as a research assistant at the Württemberg State Museum for the State Exhibition Front Austria - Only the Tail Feather of the Imperial Eagle? In 1999 she took over the management of the Saarbrücken City Archives . Since 2010 she has been the director of the Marburg Archive School.

From 2009 to 2013 she was treasurer and from 2013 to 2016 chairwoman of the Association of German Archivists .
