Irriducibili Lazio

Irriducibili Lazio (irriducibili = the indomitable) was one of the largest Italian Ultrà groups . In it organized largely fascist oriented fans of Italian football club Lazio .

Occur

Irriducibili Lazio was an extremely controversial group as the group openly professed racist and fascist opinions. Black players from opposing teams were denigrated and fascist and racist positions were represented on banners and banners. Among other things, opposing fans of AS Roma were welcomed in 1999 with an 18 m long banner with the inscription " Auschwitz is your home, the ovens your home" and in 2001 on a 30 m long banner as "Black team" and "Jewish fans". Because of these events, banners and posters (some 30 × 60 m) have to be presented beforehand. After the fan riots in February 2007 at Catania Calcio , these regulations were tightened again. Only 1.5 m long banners made of fire-resistant material are allowed. A police permit is required for this.

Drums, loudspeakers, sirens and flags were also banned. Only scarves in the club colors are allowed. Obviously extremist messages are now fought in advance. The then Italian interior minister Enzo Bianco suspected in 2000 that the right-wing extremist organization Forza Nuova controlled the Irriducibili Lazio. The leader told the BBC that the Irriducibili will not allow themselves to be politically instrumentalized, but sees himself as politically persecuted. However, no direct links to parties can be proven. The Irriducibili were under police surveillance. Her capo , Fabrizio Toffolo, was banned from the stadium until the end of 2006 because he injured a police officer on the way to an away game at the Stazione Termini . He was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment, a third of which he served in the Regina Coeli prison in Rome , the remainder was commuted to house arrest. During Lazio games, Toffolo had to sign off with the Roman police at kick-off, half-time and the final whistle.

In early August 2007, Fabrizio Toffolo was shot in the leg. Two people disguised as policemen wanted to carry out a check at around 1 a.m., so he was supposed to come downstairs to the door. When he opened it, the strangers shot him in the leg. Toffolo is the only Irriducibili capo to be found at large.

In August 2019 the long-time capo of the Irriducibili - Fabrizio Piscitelli or "Diabolik" - was shot in the head in a park in the south of Rome.

At the end of February, the group announced its breakup. The main reason for this is the desire to "realign" the curve under the name "Ultras Lazio".

Reactions of the association

The club Lazio Rome has been fined and suspended several times by the Italian Football Association. Little changed in the behavior of the fans, especially as the club is too dependent on its supporters to take effective action against them. Irriducibili Lazio are financed by their own merchandising items such as T-shirts, which are sold through their own shops in Rome and the Internet. There is now only one official fan shop of the club, all others have been replaced by the Irriducibili. The Irriducibili 's excessive pursuit of profit has been criticized by many other ultras because, in their opinion, this is not compatible with the original ideals of the ultra movement.

Irriducibili Lazio and Paolo Di Canio

The former captain of Lazio Rome, the Italian player Paolo Di Canio , is a registered member of the Irriducibili Lazio and announced a. a. at an appearance at the MTV Awards 2004 by wearing a T-shirt his connection to the group. Among other things, at the city derby against AS Roma on January 6, 2005, the self - confessed neo-fascist Di Canio showed the Roman salute ( similar to the Hitler salute ) after the game in front of the fans of the Irriducibili Lazio . This incident sparked a widespread debate about the links between some Italian groups of the Ultrà movement and right-wing extremism . After Di Canio showed the fascist salute again on December 11, 2005 at the game against AS Livorno , whose supporters are politically left-wing and whose star striker Cristiano Lucarelli is a communist at the time , he was sentenced to a fine of 10,000 euros and a game suspension. The Irriducibili Lazio then organized a demonstration in favor of Di Canio in front of the headquarters of the Italian Football Association . Around 500 people took part in this on December 23.

Friendships

The Irriducibilli Lazio were close friends with the boys San ( Inter Milan ), Ultras Sur ( Real Madrid ) and Brigadas Blanquiazules ( Espanyol Barcelona ). These groups are also considered to be very fascist and violent. Another friendship exists with the Ultras of the Bulgarian first division club Levski Sofia .
