Irungbam Surkumar Singh (born March 21, 1983 in Imphal ) is an Indian soccer player, he plays for Mohun Bagan and since 2001 in the Indian national team .

Career

Singh comes from the Tata Football Academy and began his career in the Indian National Football League in 2000 at the East Bengal Club . After winning the championship in 2001, he moved to Mahindra United for two years , with whom he won the 2003 National Cup , before returning to East Bengal Club for the 2003/04 season and winning his second league title. Between 2004 and 2007 he worked again for Mahindra United and won the national double with the team in the 2005/06 season by winning the championship and the national cup . After another two years at the East Bengal Club (2007 to 2009), he has been playing for Mohun Bagan since the 2009/10 season .

Singh played several times for the Indian national team in qualifying for the 2002 World Cup . In 2008 the defender won the AFC Challenge Cup with the national team with a 4-1 win over Tajikistan . India managed to qualify for the Asian Cup for the first time since 1984 .
