Edo Friedrich Peterssen

Edo Friedrich Peterssen (born November 2, 1827 in Berum ; † September 5, 1900 there ) was a landowner, brandy distiller and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Peterssen was the son of the wealthy forest owner and farmer, dike and sewer judge Hibbo Julius Peterssen. After attending secondary schools in the north, Ilfeld and Salzmannschule in Schnepfenthal he studied in Bonn , Göttingen and Heidelberg law , philosophy , classics and Roman history in Heidelberg and doctorate Dr. phil. He inherited large sums of money and built Nordeck Castle in 1862/64 , where he lived as a bachelor until his death . From 1874 to 1881 he represented the constituency of the Province of Hanover 2 (Aurich-Wittmund) in the Reichstag . As a member of parliament, he achieved, among other things, that the Norder Ulrichsgymnasium was raised again from a pro to a full high school in 1877. In addition, he was a member of the district committee and judge .
