Irving R. Levine

Irving R. Levine (born August 26, 1922 in Pawtucket , Rhode Island , † March 27, 2009 ) was an American journalist , television presenter and author .

Life

Levine grew up in a Jewish family in Pawtucket. He graduated from Brown University and Columbia University School of Journalism . After graduating, he initially worked for the International News Service . From 1950 he worked as a freelancer and then as a correspondent for NBC . He was stationed as a foreign correspondent in Moscow, Rome, Vienna and Berlin. Among other things, he reported on the construction of the Berlin Wall. From 1971 to 1995 he worked as a television presenter for NBC News . As an author, Levine wrote several books. In 1995 he became dean of Lynn University's School of International Communication in Boca Raton , Florida . Levine was married to Nancy Cartmel Jones and had three children.
