Isa Llagostera

Isa Llagostera (born November 17, 1946 in Hanau ; † March 10, 2009 there ) was a German artist . She was best known for her pictures in the technique of reverse glass painting . She also worked on objects like masks and steles .

Life

Isa Llagostera was born as Isa Krank in Hanau.

From 1963 to 1965 she studied painting and life drawing with Reinhold Ewald at the State Drawing Academy in Hanau, and from 1972 stage design and interior design with Professor Wilfried Minks in Hamburg.

From 1968 Llagostera lived for a long time in Spain, France and Greece until she finally returned to Hanau in 1976.

From 1980 to 1987 Llagostera taught as a lecturer at the Hanau Adult Education Center for glass painting and naive art .

In 1984 Llagostera was awarded the Main-Kinzig District's Culture Prize.

Between 1975 and 1996 Llagostera realized 18 solo exhibitions a. a. in Madrid, Málaga, in the Rhine-Main area and in the Main-Kinzig district.

In the documentary HANAU A GO-GO, Llagostera is interviewed as a contemporary witness and expert on the jazz & beatnik scene of the post-war years and on the influence of the American occupation on German culture.
