Isabella is a 2006 film by director Pang Ho-cheung about a police officer in Macau who, involved in corruption, met his illegitimate daughter shortly before the Portuguese colony of Macau was surrendered, who then moved into his apartment.
action
At the end of 1999 the Portuguese colony of Macao was handed over to the People's Republic of China . Shing is a police officer and, like many other police officers, is involved in corruption. He tries to persuade a young woman, Yan, to have a one-night stand, which she initially refuses. They later meet again and Yan claims to be his illegitimate daughter. Yan moves in with Shing and turns his life upside down. Shing processes his past and faces the memory of his first friend Isabella, whose daughter is Yan, and after whom Yan's runaway dog is named. While a father-daughter relationship develops between Shing and Yan, Shing is repeatedly caught by political events.
