Isabella Countess Albrizzi-Teotochi (born November 28, 1763 in Corfu , † September 27, 1836 in Venice ) was a Venetian salonnière and writer.

Life

Elisabetta Teotochi came from the noble family Theotokis from Corfu. She came to Venice in 1779 as the wife of the Venetian patrician Carlo Antonio Marin . After the death of her husband in 1815, she married the inquisitor Count Giuseppe Albrizzi.

In her house were among other Ippolito Pindemonte , Antonio Canova , Ugo Foscolo , Angelo Quirini , Vivant Denon , George Gordon Byron , Melchiorre Cesarotti , Vittorio Alfieri , Lazzaro Spallanzani , Germaine de Staël and Alexander von Humboldt guest. In her work “Ritratti” (1807) she draws character images of numerous of these personalities.
