Isabella Castillo Díaz (born December 23, 1994 in Havana ) is a Cuban actress and singer . She was best known for her role as Graciela "Grachi" Alonso in the series Grachi .

Career

Isabella Castillo was born on December 23, 1994 to the singer Delia Díaz de Villegas and the drummer José Castillo. She has an older sister, Giselle, who is a pianist and music teacher. In 1997, Castillo and her family immigrated to Belize and a few months later moved to Miami . At the age of five, Castillo first sang on stage at her mother's concert. From that moment on, she took dance, singing and acting classes. She studied music at the Musical Procenter and won four Grand Prize at the Florida International University's Youth Fair . On March 26, 2005, Castillo took first place as the Most Promising Childhood Singer at the USA World Showcase. She also took part in the musical Fantasia en Disney at the Manuel Artime Theater in Miami on July 15, 2005 and in a talent competition in Los Angeles . She also sang at a concert organized by the Israeli embassy for Cuban residents of the United States . In 2007 she won the Magnet Outstanding Performance Award at the South Miami Middle Community School and was invited to honor the newly elected President of Israel , Shimon Peres . In the same year she began an intensive acting course with the Cuban actress Lili Rentería, during which she prepared for the casting for the musical El diario de Ana Frank - Un canto a la vida in Madrid . After three rounds of auditions, she got the lead role in the musical. It was first performed on February 28, 2008, and Castillo won the Gran Via Prize for Best New Discovery in a Musical.

Back in the United States in 2009, Castillo began her acting career as the seventeen-year-old girl Andrea Girón in the telenovela El Fantasma de Elena , which was produced by Telemundo . After the series came to an end, Castillo was given the role of Grachi in the series of the same name from Nickelodeon Latin America . Castillo then played in the musical Grachi: El show en vivo . With the series, Castillo won the 2011 and 2012 Favorite Actress Award at the Kids 'Choice Awards Mexico, the Kids' Choice Awards Argentina and the Meus Prêmios Nick.

On February 21, 2013 Castillo signed a recording deal with Warner Music Latina., Whereupon she released her first album Soñar no Cuesta Nada on April 23, 2013. In March 2013 she won the Latin Artist Award at the Kids' Choice Awards for the second time , after winning it in 2012. In September 2014 the third album of the singer Patricio Arellano was released, on which Castillo can be heard in the song Que duermas conmigo . On October 21, 2014, her dual roles as Alma Gallardo and Verónica Saldívar in the series Tierra de reyes were announced. Also in the series ¿Quién es quién? and the play Tacones enanos , which ran from December 9, 2015 to January 10, 2016, she got roles.
