Isabella D'Adda

Isabella D'Adda (*? - probably in Milan ; † March 25, 1658 in Arona ) was a Lombard noblewoman.

Isabella is described by contemporaries as an exceptionally beautiful woman. On November 1, 1603, she married Count Carlo Barbiano di Belgioioso. After his death she married Count Carlo III on February 8, 1612 . Borromeo . The son Renato was born in 1613, Giberto followed in 1615 and Vitaliano in 1620 .

In 1632, her husband began to build a palace on one of the Borromean Islands in Lake Maggiore , which he renamed Isola Isabella in her honor , which over the years became what is now Isola Bella . Isabella D'Adda died in 1658 at the Count's ancestral home in Arona.
