Isabella Guanzini (* 1973 in Cremona ) is an Italian theologian and university professor of fundamental theology .

Life

She studied philosophy and theology in Milan and did her doctorate in fundamental theology at the University of Vienna (2012) and in philosophy (humanistic studies) in Milan (2013).

From 2000 to 2009 she taught as a teacher of philosophy and social sciences at the Liceo Statale Maffeo Vegio Lodi in laude . From 2007 to 2013 she worked as a lecturer for contemporary philosophy and philosophical theology at the Institute for Religious Studies in Crema .

Since 2009 she has been a lecturer in philosophy and then also in fundamental theology at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan and lecturer in aesthetics at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.

From 2013 to 2016 Isabella Guanzini was employed at the University of Vienna as scientific manager of the interdisciplinary research platform Religion and Transformation in Contemporary European Society of the University of Vienna as well as a lecturer in fundamental theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty and as a lecturer in Christian theologies for the master’s degree Islamic religious education.

Guanzini has been Professor of Fundamental Theology and Head of the Institute for Fundamental Theology at the University of Graz since 2018 .

Her main research interests are theology in contemporary contexts, secular translations of Christian categories, religious philosophy, Christianity and aesthetics, and Christianity and psychoanalysis.
