Career

society

Gerig started her career at the age of six with UHC Astros Rotkreuz . At the age of only 13, she moved to Zug United in the U21s. At Zug United, however, the young offensive player was not trusted to make the leap into the first team. They were used several times in the National League B by the partner club UHC Zugerland . The offensive player showed strong performances there in her first season and attracted the interest of numerous big clubs.

At the end of the season, UHC Dietlikon announced the transfer of the 17-year-old player. The agile striker was used in her first season by Sascha Rhyner in the first line together with the two world and vice world champions Linn Lundström and Laura Metsalmi. On the offensive, she plays alongside Petra Weiss and Michelle Wiki . In her first season she was able to collect 25 scorer points in 25 games. In her first two seasons she won the Swiss Cup with the UHCD. They lost to Piranha Chur in the 2015/16 championship.

Two days after winning the 2017 Cup final, the club announced that the offensive player's contract had been extended for another year until the end of the 2017/18 season. This means that she will contest her third season with the Dietlikerinnen. The young Swiss woman's new contract contains an exit clause for SSL, so that she will return to Dietlikon after a possible move to Sweden.

National team

In 2014, the native Red Cross took part in an international tournament for the first time. She played the Euro Floorball Tour with the U19 national team, as well as a preparatory tournament. In the same year she took part in a world championship for the first time. She scored eight goals and three assists. In the coming years she was able to prove her strengths in the offensive game. She took part again in the U19 World Cup in 2016 and finished third with Switzerland.

In 2016, Gerig made her debut for the Swiss senior national team . In qualifying for the World Cup in Celano , she scored five goals in four games and thus secured Switzerland's qualification for the World Cup in Bratislava.
