Isabelle Kocher (born December 9, 1966 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a top French maid and manager; From 2015 to 2020 she was CEO of the energy company Engie (emerged from Gaz de France (GdF) and the Suez conglomerate).

Career

Kocher is the daughter of Henri Thabut, the former finance director of CIT- Alcatel and Marie-Noëlle Thabut, née. Chambert-Loir, a writer and columnist for Radio Notre-Dame. She attended preparatory classes at the famous Parisian high school Lycée Janson de Sailly . During her studies she obtained a diploma in engineering and did her doctorate in 1987 at the ENS Ulm specializing in quantum optics . From 1991 to 1997 she was involved as a civil servant in the reorganization of what was then the “Société européenne de propulsion” (since 2018 part of the engine manufacturer Safran ). From 1997 to 1999 she was responsible for the telecommunications and defense budget in the Ministry of Economic Affairs. From 1999 to 2002 she was a consultant for industrial affairs in Lionel Jospin's office , where she worked a. a. with the cases EADS , Areva and Thales .

Kocher moved to Suez in 2002 in the private sector. She was involved in the merger of Suez with Gaz de France (GdF) to form today's Engie, of which she became Director General (CEO) in 2015; In February 2020, before her mandate expired, she was forced to resign due to differences with the Board of Directors on corporate strategy.

Kocher is the mother of one daughter and four sons.
