Isabelle Marie Laure Mercédès Ferdinande d'Orléans (born May 7, 1878 in Eu , France , † April 21, 1961 in Larache , Morocco ) was a French monarchist. The Orléanists considered her Queen of France and Duchess of Guise from 1926 .

Life

Isabelle d'Orléans was the daughter of the French pretender Louis Philippe of Orléans and the Spanish princess Maria Isabella d'Orléans-Montpensier .

She married on October 30, 1899 in Twickenham her cousin Jean d'Orléans, duc de Guise (1874-1940), who became French pretender to the throne after the death of Isabelle's brother in 1926. The couple had four children:

Isabelle died in Larache on April 21, 1961 at the age of 83. She was buried next to her husband in the Royal Chapel of Saint Louis in Dreux .
