Ischys (son of Elatos)
Ischys ( Greek Ἴσχυς ), a son of the Arcadian ruler Elatos , is a figure in Greek mythology .
He made the mistake of dealing with Koronis - Phlegyas' daughter . She was already pregnant by Apollo , and the god resented her infidelity (although Hesiod reports that Ischys was married to Koronis). In any case, the couple had to die; depending on the version by Apollo's own hand or by his sister Artemis . At the last moment the artistic Olympian saved his child from the belly of the dead: the later god of healing Asclepios .
