Isdalsegga ( Norwegian for ice valley ridge ) is a rocky mountain ridge in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It rises in the southern Petermann chain of the Wohlthat massif and forms the east face of the Isdalen there . The Pineginspitze is the highest point on the ridge.
The formation was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . A new mapping based on our own aerial photographs and measurements as well as the naming were carried out during the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
