Isidore Silver

Isidore Silver (born August 13, 1906 in New York City , † January 21, 1999 ) was an American Romance studies and literary scholar.

life and work

Silver received his PhD from Columbia University with the thesis The Pindaric odes of Ronsard (Paris 1937). He has taught at the University of Connecticut and Washington University in St. Louis . His research was dominated by Pierre de Ronsard .
