Iskander (also Iskandar and Iskender ) or Sikander (also Sikandar ) is the Arabic - Persian form of the Greek name Alexander (a metathesis of al-Iskander ) and mostly refers to the Macedonian Alexander the Great . The Turkish form of the name is İskender .
