Islam Gul

Islam Gul (* in Kabul , Afghanistan ) is a former Afghan football official and trainer .

Career

Gul was a trained sports teacher and taught at the University of Kabul . In the early 1970s he was named the new president of the Afghanistan Football Federation . He reorganized football in Afghanistan; Since 1970/71 there was again a regular league football operation in the capital Kabul. For the first time since 1959, a national team for international matches was organized; In 1975 the team took part in the 1976 AM qualification . Afghanistan also tried to qualify in the following years, but without success. For a short time in 1979 Gul took over the office of national coach.
