Hosein Saleh (* 1967 in Iran ) is an Iranian football coach and official working in Afghanistan .

Career

Saleh worked as Technical Director at the Afghanistan Football Federation until January 2015 . After the attack on the previous national coach Mohammad Yousef Kargar on January 10, 2015, he took over his post on an interim basis. Saleh made his coaching debut on February 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pakistan . When Slaven Skeledžić was introduced as the new head coach of Afghanistan on February 9, 2015 , he was named the new U-23 national coach. Saleh and his assistant coach Elyas Manochehr looked after the team during qualifying for the 2016 U-23 Asian Cup . After a win against Nepal (2: 0), a draw against Saudi Arabia (0: 0) and two defeats against Palestine (0: 2) and Iran (0: 6), the qualification did not succeed. Since then, Saleh has been working again as Technical Director at AFF.
