Anoush Dastgir (born November 27, 1989 in Kabul , Afghanistan ) is a Dutch- Afghan soccer coach and former soccer player .

Player career

Club career

Dastgir started his career at NEC Nijmegen . He also played for VVV-Venlo II , VV Capelle and FC Lienden. In 2016 the midfielder returned to the NEC Nijmegen amateurs, where he retired from his career in 2017.

National team

For the first time for the Afghan national team Dastgir was nominated for the game against Laos on May 29, 2015 (2-0), where he also made his debut. He was nominated for the 2015 South Asian Cup in India, which ended up losing in the final to India (1: 2 a.d.).

Coaching career

From 2012 to 2016 he was the youth coach of his club NEC Nijmegen . After Petar Šegrt terminated his contract at short notice, Dastgir took over the interim coaching position for the Afghanistan game against Tajikistan on November 13, 2016 (0: 1). At 26 years and 352 days, he is the youngest senior national team coach of all time. Under Otto Pfister he is the assistant coach of the national team. In 2017, after retiring from his career, he was appointed assistant coach of the NEC amateurs. After Amir Hashemi resigned, Dastgir took over the club on an interim basis. In March 2018, the club announced that he would become head coach. After Pfister's contract as national coach expired, Dastgir was appointed as his successor. In addition, he remains the coach of the NEC amateurs.
