Isleworth Ait  is a teardrop-shaped island or Werder (English Ait) in the tidal part of the Thames in the London Borough of Hounslow . The island is 3.5 hectares.

Isleworth Ait is heavily forested and is home to numerous animals. The island is regularly flooded, but 57 different bird species live on the island, including tree creeperskingfishers and herons . Rare snails such as the common door snail (Balea biplicata) and the Pseudotrichia rubiginosa , as well as various rare beetles can be found here. The diversity of rare animal species makes the island one of the most important nature reserves of the London Wildlife Trust . It is also part of The River Thames and tidal tributaries Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation .

Isleworth Ait was historically an important place for the wicker willow , whose branches were used to make baskets for the transport of fruit and vegetables from Middlesex to the markets in London.

There were five neighboring islands, but some of them were destroyed by shipping over time. The River Crane joins the Thames south of the island and the Duke of Northumberland's River at the north end.

The Metropolitan Water Board bought the island from the Duke of Northumberland in the 1930s. Thames Water is the current owner of the island, through which a pipe is used to discharge purified water from the nearby  Mogden Sewage Treatment Works into the Thames.

The island is cared for by volunteers from the London Wildlife Trust's Hounslow Group.
