Ismael Cortinas is a city in Uruguay .
geography
location
It is located in the department of Flores in sector 4 in the south-western tip of the department. This is where the borders to the neighboring parties Soriano , Colonia and San José lie . The Arroyo Grande rises immediately to the east of the village .
Natural resources
At Ismael Cortinas there are deposits of black granite .
history
Ismael Cortinas was founded on October 18, 1950 and bears the name of the former Uruguayan Senate President of the same name, Ismael Cortinas . On October 15, 1963, Ismael Cortinas was granted villa status by Law No. 13.167 .
