Israel Conradi (born October 19, 1634 in Danzig , † June 28, 1715 in Danzig) was a Polish doctor, philosopher, poet and naturalist who published a book in 1677 about his experiments on cold, which also included the hypothermia of water had discovered.

Israel Conradi comes from the Conrad family, who have been living in Danzig for a long time - verifiably since 1472 . Israel was the first of the family to call itself Conradi. He studied medicine at the University of Leiden. He was a Cistercian monk in the Oliva monastery near Danzig and taught philosophy there. In 1670 Conradi tried to found a research association in Danzig. He called several scholars together, to whom he lectured, for example, about warmth and cold. These meetings ended after Conradi's death. Although Conradi's learned society ultimately did not last, this early attempt to found a scientific society is counted as a significant achievement by Conradi, which distinguishes him as a progressive scientist. In 1707 Conradi published a treatise on the essence of the soul , which he described as a light created by God.
