Iss oder quizz was a quiz show that was initially considered an improv quiz. The program was initially broadcast from March 21, 2011 to September 23, 2011 in the early evening program of ZDFneo . On March 1, 2012, the program returned to the program. The show was based on the weekly Israeli guessing show Deal With It! , which has been running since May 2010 and for which Shine Germany acquired the German-speaking broadcasting rights. On April 16, 2012, the Iss or quizz team announced on Facebook that there would be no more episodes.

procedure

From ordinary citizens, couples are selected for the quiz in a restaurant. Only one of the two partners is called away and instructed in a separate room with a hidden microphone and button in his ear. He is filmed by five hidden cameras and has to follow the moderators' instructions on certain actions and answer quiz questions, the solutions of which he has to integrate into the conversation with his partner. He can win the highest possible sum of 1,000 euros in five game rounds. A maximum of EUR 250.00 can be achieved in the first three rounds. Then the candidate decides whether he wants to keep the money he has earned or continue playing. From round four the amount is doubled from round to round, but the player can lose everything in the last two rounds if he makes a mistake. In the first season 50 episodes were shot according to this concept. For the second season, programs with celebrity couples were also filmed, for example an episode with Peer Kusmagk was shown on their debut on September 12, 2011 , and Lucy Diakovska also took part.

The Focus praised the show as a “fresh program” on the ZDFneo station. Provisional removal

Due to production problems, there were allegedly missing episodes ready for broadcast, so that the 2nd season had to be interrupted from September 19, 2011 and only reruns were broadcast until September 22, 2011. However, on September 23, 2011, it became known that new programs were being suspended for other reasons. ZDFneo stated that the candidates should not have been addressed spontaneously as specified, but should have been selected beforehand. The production company confirmed this. For this reason, the program should be removed from the program until further notice. The broadcast's official website and media library were removed shortly thereafter. A broadcast of the remaining 24 episodes or even a continuation of the program was therefore considered unlikely. For example, preliminary discussions with the candidates invited to the restaurant should not have been communicated to the ZDFneo broadcaster. On January 18, 2012, the ZDF press office announced that "iss or quizz" should be included in the program again on March 1, 2012, but only with "selected episodes" in which the candidates were actually selected spontaneously. The episodes were selected after an "intensive review". The selected episodes were broadcast from March 1, 2012. The program was replaced on April 16, 2012 by the new quiz show Kneipenquiz , of which the station-related company ZDF Digital Medienproduktion GmbH produced 40 episodes. From July 2, 2012, repeats of the program were shown again in the ZDFneo lunchtime program.

Sale of rights to other countries

The rights for the format were also sold in other countries, a total of 14 times: For example to NTV for broadcasting the French and Flemish language programs in Belgium and to Direct Target for broadcasting on Channel D in Romania; in the USA there is Deal with It on the TBS channel. Option agreements for broadcasting have also been made with other broadcasters: Pulso in Spain; ARTI film in Turkey; Shine in France; Northern Alliance Group for Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway and Mir Reality for Russia.

One difference between the different versions is that it is not a quiz, but rather embarrassing tasks.
