Issatai Äbdikärimow ( Kazakh Исатай Әбдікәрімов , Russian Исатай Абдукаримович Абдукаримов Issatai Abdukarimowitsch Abdukarimow * 15. May 1923 in Ozgent, Schangagorgan district , Kyzylorda Oblast , Kazakhstan , † 7. April 2001 in Almaty , Kazakhstan) was a Soviet politician of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), who was among other things chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh Socialist Soviet Republic between 1978 and 1979 .

Life

Issatai Äbdikärimow became a soldier in the Red Army in 1941 and took part in the German-Soviet War during the Second World War and served on the Western Front of the Red Army . After the war ended in 1946 he became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) and an official of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan . As the successor to Hasan Schajachmetowisch Bekturganow between October 1972 and his replacement by Takeij Esetowitsch Esetow in December 1978, he was first secretary of the Kyzylorda Oblast party committee . He was also a deputy of the Nationalities Soviet of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR between 1974 and 1984 .

As the successor to Sabir Biljalowitsch Niyazbekow , Äbdikärimow became chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh Socialist Soviet Republic on December 20, 1978 and thus President of this Union Republic of the USSR. He remained in this office until December 14, 1979, when Sattar Nurmaschewitsch Imaschew became his successor. He has received several awards for his many years of service, including the title Hero of Socialist Labor , the Order of Lenin , the Order of the October Revolution , the Order of the Great Patriotic War and the Badge of Honor of the Soviet Union .
