Issy ten Donkelaar (born November 7, 1941 in Losser ) is a Dutch former football player and coach .

Player career

Ten Donkelaar played in Enschede until 1965 for the sports club and then until 1971 for FC Twente . Here he played on left wing , was then by Kees Rijvers to -back retrained. With the team he reached third place in 1968/69, the best place in his time with the Red-Whites . In the summer of 1971 ten Donkelaar moved to the Eerste Divisie at Heracles Almelo , where he stayed until the end of his career.

Coaching career

After his active career, ten Donkelaar was a junior coach at his home club FC Twente. 1994 was promoted as the successor to Rob Baan in the head coach of the club. In November of the following year he was fired after a 3-0 defeat by NAC Breda . In January 1996 the German Hans Meyer became his successor. After this engagement ten Donkelaar moved back to the youth department of the club. He is also responsible for youth scouting.
