Italians in Mexico

As Italo Mexicans are Italian-speaking and Italian descent referred to in Mexico live. Only about 13,000 Italians emigrated to Mexico, and at least half of them subsequently returned to Italy or went to the United States . Most of the Italians who came to Mexico were farmers or farm workers from the northern parts of the country, especially from the regions of Veneto and South Tyrol . Other emigration areas in the early 19th century were in southern Italy. A significant number of Italian settlers who arrived in Mexico in the late 19th and early 20th centuries received financial aid from the Mexican government.

During the late 18th century, the first Italians settled in Mexico, with attractions being Veracruz , Puebla, and Michoacán . Today around 850,000 people in Mexico have Italian roots.
