Società Italiana di Fisica

The Società Italiana di Fisica is the specialist society and interest group for physicists in Italy . The "Italian Society for Physics", founded in 1897, has its seat in Bologna .

Publications

Since its inception, the company has published the journal Il Nuovo Cimento , but also the Quaderni di Storia della Fisica and the Giornale di Fisica . Parts of the Nuovo Cimento were included in the then Europhysics Letters in 1986 and in the European Physical Journal in 1999 . From 1956 to 1984 the company published the Bollettino della Società Italiana di Fisica , which then became Il Nuovo Saggiatore and in 1991 took over the magazine Fisica e Tecnologia .

Prices

The Society awards a number of prizes for special scientific achievements, including the Premio Enrico Fermi and, together with the Institute of Physics, the Premio Giuseppe Occhialini .
