Itapevi is a Município in the southwest of the state of São Paulo in Brazil . An estimated 234,352 inhabitants lived in the municipality in 2018.
history
The place originated in the 18th century. The first railway station was inaugurated on July 10, 1875. After a referendum in 1958, the vast majority of the residents voted for the autonomy of the municipality. On February 18, 1959, Itapevi officially became a Município. The first mayor of the municipality was Rubens Caramez.
