Karl Körner (politician)

Johann Phillip Karl Christian Körner (born July 16, 1832 in Wehen ; † November 6, 1914 in Idstein ) was a Prussian farmer, civil servant and politician.

Life

Karl Körner studied agriculture in Wiesbaden from 1848 to 1850 and received practical agricultural training until 1853. In 1854 he took over his own farm in Wehen. In labor he was a postman from 1861 to 1877, later also a registrar, and from 1876 additionally mayor and district councilor. From 1879 to 1888 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , first for the German Progressive Party and then for its successor, the German Liberal Party . As a member of parliament, he represented the constituency of Wiesbaden 5 (Untertaunuskreis).

On August 17, 1885, Körner won a substitute election in the Reichstag constituency of Wiesbaden 1 (Obertaunus - Höchst - Usingen) as a candidate for the Liberals . He was a member of the Reichstag until the end of the legislative period in 1887.
