Itiberê Zwarg
Itiberê Luiz Zwarg (born January 24, 1950 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian jazz musician ( double bass , composition ).

Zwarg, son of the musician and composer Antônio Bruno Zwarg (1923–2016), who introduced him to music. He first learned the piano, later the double bass and other instruments such as B. tuba. He began his career in Ray Carelli's orchestra, where he played dance music. In the 1970s he was a member of the bands Xangô Três and Bossa Jazz Trio . From 1977 until today he has been a member of the ensemble of Hermeto Pascoal , with whom he has performed worldwide and recorded nine albums ( Zabumbê-bum-á; Montreux Alive; Cérebro Magnético; Hermeto Pascoal & Group; Lagoa da Canoa; Só Don't Toca Quem suchen Quer ; Brasil Universo; Festa dos Deuses; Mundo Verde Esperança ).
Zwarg has also been active as a composer and arranger since 1992. He arranged for Gilson Macedo's album Variasons and contributed to the CDs De onde vens by the singer Ivetty Souza and the CD Cordas Cruzadas by the Quarteto Mahogany. In 1999 he founded the Itiberê Orquestra Família , with which he released the albums Pedra de Espia (2001), Calendário do som (2005) and Contrastes (2008) and participated in the CD Igual a mi corazón by the Argentine singer Liliana Herrero . In 2011, the formerly large-format Itiberê Orquestra Família, which initially consisted of music students, became the Itiberê Zwarg & Group, initially eight and now six . In 2017 he made an album with him and the Finnish UMO Jazz Orchestra .
