Ituzaingó is the capital of the Ituzaingó department of the same name in the Corrientes province in northeast Argentina . In the classification of communes in the province of Corrientes, Berón de Astrada belongs to the 2nd category.

history

The place name comes from the Guaraní language . In this case it is intended to commemorate the battle of Ituzaingó on February 20, 1827 in what is now Brazil , in which Argentine, Brazilian and Uruguayan troops faced each other.

Ituzaingó is one of the most important seaside resorts in the Corrientes province. In recent years it has been attracting more and more tourists from Posadas to the local beaches.
