The Itzstedter lake located in the town close at Itzstedt in Schleswig-Holstein .
It is a natural body of water with a maximum depth of 7.20 m. The average depth is approx. 4.2 m.
The vegetation of the Itzstedter See consists of widespread species. There are no near-natural riparian trees, the reed belt is consistently narrow. The underwater vegetation is only sparsely developed and consists of species resistant to disturbance and eutrophication.
The site is privately owned and changed hands in 2017. There is a bathing area on the east bank, where entry is collected. In 2016, 23,000 visitors were counted.
A settlement of the Ahrensburg culture is suspected in the vicinity .
