Iulian Iosif Prassler ( 1916 - 1942 ) was a Romanian football player . The striker played 77 games in the highest Romanian division, Divizia A , and took part in the 1938 World Cup.

Career

Prassler's career began in the Phoenix Baia Mare first team in 1933 . When Divizia B was launched in 1934 , Phoenix was one of the founding members. Prassler was able to complete his season as a winner with his team in the following two years, but failed in the promotion round. In 1936 he rose to Divizia A by changing clubs when he joined AMEF Arad . With his new club he was able to complete the 1937/38 season as runner-up in Group 1, but missed qualifying for the championship final against Ripensia Timișoara due to the poorer goal difference against Rapid Bucharest .

After he moved to Juventus Bucharest in 1938 , Prassler achieved the best yield of his career with 13 goals in the 1938/39 season , which meant fifth place on the scorers list. He was denied winning the championship with Juventus, as the club was only in the lower midfield and had to be relegated at the end of the 1939/40 season . Then Prassler returned to Baia Mare, which had meanwhile fallen to Hungary due to the Second Vienna Arbitration . There he played another season for Nagybánya SE .

National team

Prassler played two games for the Romanian national soccer team and remained without a goal. He made his debut on May 8, 1938 in the game against Yugoslavia and was then appointed by national coach Constantin Rădulescu in the Romanian squad for the 1938 World Cup in France. There he was used in the 1: 2 lost replay of the first round against Cuba . This was also his last international match.
