Iván Alejandro García Navarro (born October 25, 1993 in Guadalajara ) is a Mexican diver . He starts in the 10 m high diving and together with Germán Sánchez in the 10 m synchronized diving. He is trained by Iván Bautista.

Career

García started diving at the age of seven. He jumped his first international junior competitions when he was eleven. In 2008 he had his breakthrough. At the Junior World Championships he was fifth from the 10-meter tower. He also won his first national adult championship title. His first international championship in the adult area denied García at the World Championships in Rome in 2009 , where he was eighth in the 10 m synchronized jumping with Sánchez.

In 2011 he won a competition at the FINA Diving Grand Prix for the first time . At the World Championships in Shanghai he was seventh in the individual and in the synchronized competition from the tower. He then celebrated his greatest successes to date at the 2011 Pan American Games in his hometown of Guadalajara. He won the title with Sánchez in the 10-meter synchronized jumping and in the individual from the tower.

García is one of the greatest hopes of the Mexican diver for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . At the 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore , he already won bronze from the 10-meter tower. He counts Fernando Platas to be his greatest sporting role model. García received a sports scholarship from the city of Guadalajara for his sporting success.
