Ivaldi (Iwalt) is a dwarf in Norse mythology . He is a blacksmith and the father of the goddess Idun . His sons, who are not named, make in the story Loki's bet with the dwarves, which is handed down in Skáldskaparmál , the golden hair of the Sif , Freyr's ship Skidbladnir and Odin's spear Gungnir . Loki bets the dwarf Brokkr that his brother Sindri can not forge such works of art. Then he created the golden boar Freyrs Gullinborsti , the golden ring Draupnir and Thor's hammer Mjölnir .
