Ivan Engnell

Karl Ivan Alexander Engnell (born December 12, 1906 in Linköping ; † January 10, 1964 ) was a Swedish theologian.

Life

Engnell completed his studies in philosophy in Uppsala in 1933 and  theology in 1934. In 1940 he received his licentiate in theology. In 1943 he received his doctorate and became a lecturer in Old Testament exegesis . In 1947 he became professor for exegetical theology at Lund University and in the same year for exegetics at Uppsala University . In 1949 he became an inspector for Gotland . Engnell published several scientific papers and wrote numerous articles in the daily and specialist press.
