Ivan Jordell

Ivan Per Erik Jordell (born July 19, 1901 in Katrineholm , Sweden , † September 7, 1965 in Malmö ) was a Swedish painter. Large-scale landscape paintings, still lifes and portraits, mostly in high-contrast, expressive color compositions, are typical of Jordell.

Life

Jordell studied 1930-1931 at the painting school in Malmö (Skånska målarskolan). His first exhibitions in the Museum of Malmö (1932) and in the Skåne Konstförening Art Association (1933) made him famous. Today his pictures are represented in many Scandinavian museums, for example the Swedish National Museum , the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, the Art Museum in Gothenburg and the National Gallery of Copenhagen .
