Ivano Bertini

Ivano Bertini (born December 6, 1940 in Pisa , Italy , † July 7, 2012 in Florence ) was an Italian chemist . He became known for his contributions to bioinorganic chemistry , in particular to NMR spectroscopy of metalloenzymes .

Life

Bertini received his doctorate in 1964 from Luigi Sacconi at the University of Florence . In 1975 he became a professor there. He was the first to use NMR spectroscopy to determine the structure of a paramagnetic protein in solution .
