The Ives Bank ( English ) is a submarine bank located at least 11 m below the sea surface in the southern reaches of Ryder Bay on Adelaide Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 1.5 km south of the Mikkelsen Islands .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after Lieutenant Commander David Mure Ives (* 1946) of the Royal Navy in 1984 , who was involved in surveying the bank with the HMS Endurance in March 1981 .
