Ivica Belas (born March 22, 1977 in Split , SFR Yugoslavia ) is an Austrian handball player .

Career

Ivica Belas ran until 2002 for the Croatian club RK Brodomerkur Split, with which he was three times Croatian champion. He then played for two years in Bolzano, before moving to the Handball League Austria for Aon Fivers Margareten in 2004 . Since 2008 he has been under contract with UHK Krems , with whom he won the Austrian Cup in 2010. He has been a player-coach in Krems since the 2013/14 season . In 2016 he ended his arrangement at UHK Krems after a failed start to the season. For the 2018/19 season he was hired by UHC Hollabrunn as a coach.

On December 24, 2010, Belas was granted Austrian citizenship, and in March 2011 he made his debut for the Austrian national team , for which he has played two international matches.
