Ivo Bach

Ivo Bach (* 1978 in Cologne ) is a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

Ivo Bach studied 1999-2004 jurisprudence at the Universities of Friborg , Geneva and Mainz . During this time he worked from 2000 to 2001 as a student assistant with Klaus Tiedemann at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg.

From 2004 to 2015 he was a research assistant at the chair for civil law, international private law and comparative law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz ( Peter Huber ), where he received his doctorate in 2008 with the title Cross-Border Enforcement in Europe . In the meantime, Bach completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Koblenz .

In 2016, Bach received his habilitation at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz due to the writing performance obstacle .

After serving as a professor at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen from 2015 to 2016 , he accepted a professorship for civil law , medical law , European and international private law and has been a university professor in Göttingen since 2016 .

His main research interests are in the field of contractual obligations, international private and procedural law, medical law and civil procedural law, with particular emphasis on arbitration law.

Ivo Bach is married and has 3 children.
