Iwao Takamoto

Iwao Takamoto (born April 19, 1925 in Los Angeles ; † January 8, 2007 there ) was the draftsman and creator of the popular cartoon character Scooby-Doo (a mastiff).

Takamoto has worked on cartoons for over 60 years. In particular, “Peter Pan” and “The Flintstones” should be mentioned here.

He died in a Los Angeles hospital on January 8, 2007, at the age of 81.
