Iynx (mythology)
Iynx ( Greek Ἴυγξ , also Jynx ) is a figure from Greek mythology . According to Callimachus, she is the daughter of Pan and Echo , in Suda the Echo or Peitho .
She is petrified by Hera or transformed into a bird, the Jynx torquilla ( turning neck ), because she seduces Zeus to love Io . As a bird, she is then tied to a wheel and used for love spells . Aphrodite brings this cog called Iynx to Jason , who makes Medeia love him.
